Brushing: Common Questions Asked

If you have questions about brushing, then our dentists, Dr. Hoang Truong and Dr. Asma Sajid would like to help you find the answers you need. That way you will know all you need to know about having the proper and effective brushing routine that can keep your smile and oral health in tip-top shape. So, to help you, we would like to provide some answers to commonly asked questions about brushing, like:

Q: Why do I need to brush?

A: It’s important to brush because brushing helps remove the plaque and other harmful substances from your teeth regularly. Removing those substances can help you prevent dental issues, like cavities and periodontal disease.

Q: How often should I brush?

A: It’s best to brush twice a day. Many prefer to brush every morning and night.

Q: What should I use to brush?

A: It’s strongly recommended to use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste when brushing. This is because the soft bristles clean and care for the gums and the fluoride in the toothpaste helps strengthen and nourish the tooth enamel.
